Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the City of Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana, that the
Shelbyville Common Council will hold a second public hearing to consider at the Council Chambers of
Shelbyville City Hall, 44 W. Washington St., Shelbyville, Indiana, 46176 at 5:00 p.m. on September 15,
2025, the establishment of a food and beverage tax under House Enrolled Act 1427 P.L 230 2025 IC 6-9-
62-3 for all uses set out in Indiana Code 6-9-62-9. The tax will be levied on all taxable food and beverage
transactions within the taxing district and will not exceed 1% of gross retail income received by the
merchant from the food or beverage transaction. Taxpayers appearing at such hearing shall have the right
to be heard thereon. Within thirty (30) days after the date of the adoption of the food and beverage tax by
the Shelbyville Common Council, the City of Shelbyville will publish a Notice of Adoption. Dated this 5 th
