Information About Tonight’s Plan Commission Meeting

The only petition on the agenda is PC 2025-15 LORM, LLC & Alisha Clay Annexation

Plan Commission’s only responsibility is to make a recommendation back to the Common Council on a zoning classification for the properties being considered for annexation. The Common Council will make a final decision on the proposed annexation and zoning classification. The Plan Commission will base their decision on the following “Decision Criteria”, as outlined in the City’s Unified Development Ordinance:


  1. Comprehensive Plan: The Comprehensive Plan and any other applicable, adopted planning studies or reports

  2. Current Conditions: The current conditions and the character of current structures and uses in each district

  1. Desired Use: The most desirable use for which the land in each district is adapted

  1. Property Values: The conservation of property values throughout the City of Shelbyville's planning jurisdiction

  2. Responsible Growth: Responsible Growth and Development

Public Discussion

If you wish to ask a question or make a comment during the public hearing portion of tonight’s meeting, you must register with a member of City staff in the lobby. 


You will be required to provide your name and address in order to be added to the list to speak. 


The public hearing portion of the meeting will have specific rules that apply to all members of the public speaking, those rules are as follows:


  • To speak, you must first “sign-in” with a member of City staff in the lobby

  • Each member of the public will be limited to one (1) opportunity to speak

  • Each speaker will have the following time limits, based on who they are speaking for:

    • Individuals - 1 Minute

    • Representing an Organization - 3 Minutes

  • All comments/questions must be directed to the commission, not the public or the petitioner

  • After all public comment, the petitioner will be able to respond to the comments/questions that were made
